Roulette, which originated as a European game coming from a French world meaning, “small wheel”. Although the game has divided into two different versions, European Roulette and American Roulette, the two are very similar to each other.

In both European and American Roulette, a croupier spins a wheel which has a certain number of separately numbered pockets. The croupier then drops a ball into the spinning wheel, on which players bets are placed. In European Roulette the slots are numbered 1 to 36 and colored red and black, with the number 1 slot being red. There is another green pocket numbered 0, and colored green. The single zero wheel is what distinguishes European Roulette from American Roulette, and the difference causes a large number of variations in the betting system and the odds for the game.

How to play european roulette

In European Roulette, if a player places a bet on a single number and then wins, the payout is 35 to 1. In this bet the original wager is returned so the total win is the bet multiplied by 36. However, players in European Roulette can bet on many numbers, combinations, ranges, odds and evens and even colors.

The house advantage in European Roulette is 2.7%, as opposed to the 5.3% advantage in American Roulette. This means that in European Roulette the odds of losing money is half that of American Roulette. Also in European Roulette players use a larger table, and players use standard casino chips of differing values.

Although some people have certain strategies for European Roulette, some feel that there are really no specific strategies that will increase the odds of winning. The Martingale betting strategy for European Roulette claims that if the gambler doubles the bet after every loss would cause the player to recover all previous loses with the first win, plus gaining a profit equal to the original bet.

The Street Bet is an Inside Bet on 3 numbers which pays out 11 to 1 if you win. It´s also called Transversale Plein in French roulette. This is a so called “Inside Bet” (like the Split Bet and the Corner Bet) because you place your chips “inside” the number zone on a roulette table.

It’s also known as a Row Bet or a Line Bet (but not to be confused with the Six Line Bet).

An example would be a bet on 10,11,12 or 28,29,30. To place a Street Bet, place your chip at the end of a row of 3 numbers as shown above. You can use thes kinds of bets in the 3 Quadrant Strategy.

European Roulette is a standard roulette game which follows the same rules as practically every other roulette game. You have the roulette wheel with the coloured and numbered slots. You have a white ball, and players place bets on where the white ball will eventually settle after it is placed into the spinning roulette. In a European roulette game, the wheel has 37 pockets (1-36 and the single zero). In American roulette, there is an extra green pocket, the double zero. So, why does this make a difference? Because your outside bets lose if the double zero pocket comes up and the house edge will increase. If we consider European roulette the single number bet pays 35:1 (35 times your bet on top of your initial bet) and you have one chance in 37 to win. This is the basic information you need to know. For a more detailed overview of the best roulette bets and roulette wheel numbers. Another option is to play European roulette, if you can find it. That game only has a single zero on the wheel, which reduces the house edge to 2.70%. The best bet in roulette is on a European roulette table which offers the en prison option. This reduces the house edge by half again, making it only 1.35%.
